So, We're Having...

A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!

So I got this silly idea to have a cake party for baby #3. Had to show her some loving since I **thought** she'd be a boy and may feel like, well, the third boy. Figured it'd be a fun way for us to find out this time.

So my girlfriend, Cami, make two cakes. One of each color. And brought them to our "party" {which was basically our community group}. I invited everyone to wear a blue or red shirt to "vote" for their gender. When we arrived, I passed over the envelope from the technician which contained gender pics and a filled out card...

She sneaked to the bathroom, found out, and then placed the right cake in front of us to cut open with everyone.
{they were all so excited to find out too! can't you tell?!}

And then we cut the cake...
And I totally cried. I'm blaming it all on the extra hormones! So much shock, joy, surprise, and excitement to contain.

This had to be one of my favorite moments and favorite ways to find out. It just all turned out so perfect. More than I imagined. A night I'll always remember with such delight.

A special thanks to Cami who did an amazing job on making two cakes for us to enjoy, to Elizabeth for hosting our little shindig {and making sure we didn't wait until our normal Saturday night gathering time}. And all our family and friends who were there in spirit {via social media/texts}. :) Since my parents are roughing it as they travel through Spain, they also got the joy of email notification! I'm pretty sure it was an early 6:30am when they responded.

Here's to our growing family of FIVE!!!

Leaf Printing

A few weeks ago, the boys and I went on the leaf hunt with some friends. We met at a park and collected as many different types of leaves as possible.

The next day, we gathered our supplies together for printing:

-various leaves
- white paper
- fall colored crayon colors
-something hard to work on {we used a plastic plate}

Place a leaf under the paper and lightly color the paper so that the leaf lines show up

We found that the pine tree needles didn't really show up, but the prints should look something like this...

But if you have a toddler, it'll look more like this:

We did learn a few tree species like oak, gum and Japanese maple! So it'd say it was a success! ;)

Burlap Bubble Wreath

Welcoming fall--one burlap piece at a time!

A girlfriend and I spent a craft night creating this fun burlap bubble wreath to welcome fall. I immediately loved its messy, non-uniformed look. Once we figured out the first 'bubble', the rest fell into place. We did add the extra step of wrapping the wreath in burlap before adding the bubbles too. That way we didn't have to worry about unwanted styrofoam peeking through. Whole thing took just a few hours.

I added a little berry bunch and an "S". I got a small wooden one, traced/cut some paper then mod-podged it on. I hot-glued some twine to it and tied it around the wreath to keep it secure.

Much closer to being ready for fall!

Make A Guess! ----->

It's up! Finally! I was having major issues with the poll from blogger so went to a third party poll place. You have exactly ONE week to guess what we're gonna have before we know!

So take a moment to vote on the right side bar what we should expect: more loud and rowdy battles or perhaps cozy, dandy parties this time!

Fall Lovin'

I'm sorry. I'm going to disappoint you.

I still have not finished my kilt tutorial that I was hoping to already have published. Plus, some highlights from T's first birthday. Boo! Sorry, you're just going to have to wait on pins and needles until I'm finally ready.

Until then, jump over to Newlywife to see some ideas I'm sharing about fall and creating your own bucket list.

It's the best season. Might as well have its own bucket list...like, leaf jumping!
